Serving Our Community with Compassion

Our Story

Since 1986 St. Vincent de Paul has served the greater Anderson area by providing short-term aid to our clients. We are one of the resources this community can use to meet its basic survival needs.

Our organization consists of a completely volunteer staff with no paid positions.  The executive board oversees its operations.

St. Vincent de Paul is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization that derives the majority of its revenues from donations and fundraising events from the two local Catholic churches and from the Anderson area business community that supports our annual Friends of the Poor Walk.  We receive donations of household goods and used furniture from the community at large and continue to apply for grants to help fund our assistance programs.

Over 89 percent of our revenues go directly to support the families we serve by providing utility and rent assistance as well as non-food items.  The remainder of our budgeted revenues pay for operating expenses at the warehouse and for organization expenses. Likewise, all non-perishable food, furniture, and household donations go to our families in need.
